After a good night's sleep (at last !) we were up and away early again to meet Kansuke. -The farm is famous for 2 reasons, 1 - winner of The All Japan koi show (a while ago now) and 2 - his mother started the farm - I believe this is unique. Unfortunately, although he had some nice Kohaku and Showa, we felt that these were not appropriate to meet our customers requirements, so we decided not to purchase anything here.

Kobayashi was our second farm of the day - Originally a Shiro Utsuri breeder (he uses Omasako x Seki bloodlines) and Showa (old Dainichi bloodline) he now is using his good friend Ikarashi Kazuto parents to produce the Aragoke (Armoured scales). These unique koi are incredibly popular so we were happy to find several examples with great scalation, along with some shiro utsuri.

Our last stop was Takahashi Koi Farm. It is a great privilege that we were again offered the first selection of his nisai harvest. Takahashi san appreciates our loyal custom and our relationship has been built up over the last 25 years.  He only received 3 visits from foreigners to his farm over the 2 year covid period, Koi Water Garden were 2 of those visits! The 3 of us spent the next 5 hours carefully selecting through every newly harvested pond and were happy with the superb selection of Showa, Doitsu Showa Gin Rin Showa, Kohaku, Gin Rin Kohaku, Doitsu Kohaku and Sanke, Kujaku, Kirin, Beni Kumonryu and Tancho Go-Sanke.
